Crystal madness is

a metaphor
I didn’t really
go out with the mindset
to write about magical crystals
c’mon

I went in with what would
the government, groups
of people do if they
got their hands on
something that can
manipulate your mind
and is worth a lot of money

Answer is easy
erase and alter memories
kill people
chase after them for it
it’s worth more than
anything you’ll see
in your lifetime

And so I thought
of an object
micro chips?
really no
probably a million
stories with them
how about a stone
a crystal?
nobody would suspect
them to have power
or magical properties

Characters?
How about some
‘boring’ editor
and her husband
works for the
military
— perfect
they eventually
breakup
he did things
she didn’t know about
then she ends up
with the guy
that tried to kill her
in the beginning
his mind was
also altered by
‘mind control’
but she finds out
the truth

Part of me

I think about the day we met in my darkest hour
I don’t question my decision to walk away
but I feel as if I was wrong to do it
like I should be with you and not with him
I never had the insane chemistry
with him as I do with you
but he never hurt me or played me like you did

Then again,
maybe I hurt and played you
I walked away without a explanation
though I gave you one a million times
I made love to you one too many times to make you
think I’d do whatever you want

One day,
I shut down completely on you and showed you
you can’t control me
but you still think you do
I’ll magically come back to you
when things go south like I have

Then again,
you’re not the same person I met years ago
you’ve changed and I realized you’re never coming back
and I’m not either

Guide to Self-Improvement

If you are like me, you think this is another pointless blog post telling you what to do to make your life better.

Like… Who are you? Are you an expert? What works you and other people won’t work for me! Unless I am really sick, how is that helpful?

Bingo. That’s the answer.

It’s not helpful. You have a functioning brain, mind, and body. The problem is you listen to people tell you, you have problems. You listen to them talk down to you, ignoring the fact they have problems too.

What to do?

Well, you live in you. You have the ability to create, think, and act for yourself. If something bothers you, you change it. If someone slams the door in your face, look for another. If your friends or so-called allies turn your back on you, find new ones. It’s not going to be easy, nothing ever is. You are you — nothing anyone or anything can take away from you. Nothing you are willing or should surrender to things or people that cause you more harm than good.

You own your mind, body, and spirit. No one else knows it. No one else controls it. No matter what they may think or try to have you believe. And please, do not listen to me either. I am typing words on a screen. I can’t guide you. I can’t improve you. I don’t know you. It’s all up to you.
